I am sure Macron and Bayrou are laughing their guts out at us right now.

That's "Scott Morrison AC's last great fuck-up", thank you very much! Utter joke...

I'd like to LIKE this comment but the reminder that we honoured that scumabaglous cretin just pissed me off too much. Love your work!

The giant stinking scummo produced fart that is still polluting Australia!

Smug faced Scotty, instead of that award he has received, should be chucked headfirst into prison for his role in Robodebt. Plus he NEVER led Australia through COVID successfully. Those idjets who awarded him obviously overlooked the fact that he delayed the importing of test packages PLUS delayed the actual vaccinations so that his mate could manufacture them here, which delayed many actually receiving the Vax with dire consequences. As for AUKUS what a complete catastrophe🥵

Couldn't agree more...And Scummo had to be dragged, kicking and screaming to do every single thing that got done by the Commonwealth during COVID. The States did all the heavy lifting with him bagging them out for it the whole time. Why do these people think we don't have a working memory?

The fact that this clusterfuck was a Scott “I don’t hold a hose mate” Morrison AC thought bubble should have been the most giant red flag imaginable.

Why the Albanese government is so gung ho on it is a mystery (why Richard Marles is salivating over it is not; he is a truly dangerous ideologue).

Is it possible to set up a Go Fund thingo to get rid of Marles? I'm sure Albo would toss in a few dollars.

Yes he's a thorn in their side for sure.

It WAS! A huge red flag that had anyone with half a functioning synapse saying nooooo because it was so obviously going to be a disaster!

Couldn't agree more JB! Why the heck are we throwing good money after bad?!? And why, oh why are we not distancing ourselves from the trainwreck that is the United States? Its only going to end really badly for them and we don't want to get any on us!

Totally with you here. I hate how we seem to always kowtow to the US. Trump is appearing weaker and weaker, but his appointed administration (Vance, Rubio, Hegseth et al) are full on making bad decisions so it doesn't look good if Trump suddenly carks it.

Bless you Birmingham for dropping the truth bombs here. It would be nice if you word smithed an opinion in the reason the US wanted us to have nuc boats in the first place: so we can blockade the Malaka Straight or even South China Sea so the USN goes not have to.

Oh, this whole bloody submarine shitshow is appalling! I’m with Malcolm Turnbull on this one. We need to extricate ourselves as fast as possible from the used sub deal where we won’t get any subs, used or otherwise! Richard Marles needs a kick up the arse and to be moved to the back bench, the sycophantic little toad!

And think that Scummo received the “highest award” in the land for *checks notes* leadership this week 🫠

Where do I vote to agree to "using modified speed boats stuffed full of explosives" and "drone fleets, missile platforms and cyberwarfare capabilities" rather than the Marles pipe dream which you so correctly described as "East India Company might’ve said, "Steady on, lads, that’s a bit much, innit?"

Just the thing I have been saying to anyone who will listen or in the comments section of FB posts on this topic. Chances are if and it is a big if we get the nuclear submarines they will already be obsolete and unable to do the things we need them to do. Where as drones are cheaper than even convention submarines and if they are sunk no lives are lost.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. I’ve been doing the same since BEFORE the review was announced by the US. It is an issue that has been shoved under the carpet and ignored until now!

The forthcoming Bintang drone is like an undersea Esky- delivering swarms of ‘stubbies’ wherever needed…

Looking at Ukraine we should be spending a shit load on drones of all shapes and sizes, air, land and sea. Plus surface to air & surface to sea missiles. Oh, and old fashion diesel battery subs (maybe a bakers dozen).

I know it is controversial, universal conscription. With an option to spend the year in emergency services (I’m thinking Rural Fire or SES)

Absolutely agree! Wasn’t there an Aussie company working on state of the art sea-going drone subs that had the propeller kicked out from under them during the scummo era?

Oh, I think we'll definitely get those US boats - offshore, threatening merchant shipping heading to and from China - if we preference trade over performative fascism. Though that's unlikely with Richard "All the way with DJT" Marles on the case.

And it looks like the Japanese subs, that we were going to buy before retrofitting nuke French subs to be conventional boats, are now in the water.
