"It’s been a long time since News Corp was a news company, in the sense of simply reporting reality from the ground. There’s no money in that now. All the money is in shaping reality, in producing disinformation at scale."

Geez John, I don't think I've heard anyone put it so simply or so well. Nobody will admit you can no longer make an honest living out of news; the alternatives are too horrible for most of us to contemplate. Well there you go.

Of course, Rupe's version of net-zero probably involves nuclear reactors. Can't be having that wishy-washy renewable stuff. Given the pace of change and the needed pace of change, 2050 is really just "a long time in the future" so we shouldn't do anything drastic right away. A delaying tactic, rather than a capitulation.

It will be interesting to see the new look News Corp coverage of the upcoming climate confab. What to glean from the subtle nuances and subliminal inferences that will flow from the key boards of the devils disciples. This will set the scene for the reaction that will most assuredly come from Morry and and his pals, to the modern day version of the conversion of St Paul on his road to Damascus. Morry is waiting for the divine dictat from his omnipresent adviser as to what he his going to say to his corporate donors. Meanwhile Angus Taylor is on suicide watch.

I must admit my very first thought was how wonderful it was going to be to watch Darth Rupe's trollumnists' (so stealing that btw..brilliant JB!) collective heads explode trying to roll back all their years of deranged climate change denial. We all know its bullshit but its definitely going to be fun to watch right?

I imagine a scenario where Greg dies and goes to heaven. As he tries to enter the pearly gates, St Peter stops him and says "hey you, come here, I want a word with you" as Greg stands in front of St Peter, he notices that a lot of people are going straight in through the gates. Greg says "why are those people going in and I am not ?" St Peter replies that they were all conservationists, and they did all they could to save God's planet, St Peter goes on to say that "God gave you, and your kind, a beautiful paradise, and all you did was try as hard as you could to turn it into a world of Sloth, Greed, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Pride and Wrath". "Look" said St Peter, "because you were such a good bum buddy with Cardinal Pell I will let you in, but I am going to keep a close eye on you, because I don't want you doing the same thing down there as you did back on what's left of God's paradise."

When Beelzebub dies, Lachlan the demon sporn, realises that whereever he is buried, there will be a line of people circling the earth waiting to shit on his grave.

They decide that his love of money was so great that his ashes should be intered in his safety deposit vault along with the rest of his billions, in the News Corp tax haven in Vermont.

The dauphin, Lachlan, will summon the leaders of the free world, those that he allows to rule in his name, so that they may prostrate themselves at his feet, as they out bid each other in offerings of gold, incense and myrrh.
