I must be conscience-free or something - your book has just been purchased on-line - easiest and cheapest for this little OAP! Looking forward to reading it John - not to win the freeby - that should go to those who really need that - a gift to friends?! My wife with the November 28 fall and broken patella and tibia of her left leg - on this her 72nd birthday to-day Jan. 7th - had an X-ray and great news - all proceeding perfectly in the healing stakes - rehab now on the agenda - and managed therefore as a bonus - to get her hair cut - after several months not able to do so - and from her favourite hairdresser - a chap from Iran. Peace and joy reigns again - and from her partner in marriage - the latest Stephanie Alexander tome - "HOME" as her birthday present! Happy New Year to you, John & family - and to your brilliant readers!
Quandary: living out in the sticks a.k.a six hours from Dymocks, while also refusing to give Bezos one cent of my super. No Tay Tay eggs or immortality via the next book for me. :(
Going to the big smoke next weekend, so maybe will get a hardcopy consolation prize then - looking forward to reading it!
The sticks are hard. I remember doing a tour of outback Qld about fifteen years ago. The only place you could buy a book was at the local newsagent, assuming one existed. Most of them have probably closed by now.
Holy flaming fattie, Batman...didn't know about "The Cruel Stars" or the new one. Are they coming to Audible any time soon?...I'm such a lazy "reader" these days.

OMG Jim! A broken leg is horrible. I hope she gets better soon. And, yes, Stephanie Alexander's cookbook's are awesome. I've got at least three.
John: Christine, like you, tells me she too, now has three of Stephanie's books! Jim

Must have read Cruel Start as a freebie or something? Can't recall it all, so purchased both so I can start the trilogy from the start.
