Don Watson it was, I think, who identified the core problem of modern politics as being dumb blokes and what to do with them. Maybe I’m verbaling Paul Keating’s speech writer here, and if so, my apologies, but I’m pretty sure it was him. And he should take the compliment. No ink-stained wretch ever scribbled such truthy words.
I see this a lot in my job, which has a good bit of command and control. If I am being Deputy Commander for a female Commander, sometimes the blokes (the ones who are invariably shit at their jobs) in the team will walk right past her and ask me a question. “You need to talk to the boss mate.” The ones who are solid, who know their work, never have any problem. And it’s not an occasional blip - it happens all the time
"Men in revolt against Gillard" how fkn tiny does your dick have to be srsly smh etc, she passed more legislation with a hung Parliament than any government either side of her wtaff grow some balls and half a brain fellas
6 major reforms in a hung Parl, simply incredible. And if they hadn't been destroyed by Wrecker Abbott we'd be leading the world in action on climate (carbon tax), about $150bn richer (mining tax), and have an education system that was fairer (true Gonski). The Abbott election put Australia back at least 20 years, fuck I hate that guy... and the fact Credlin got an OA for crafting the lies that put him in office makes me want to smash things.
Highly insightful piece that explains so much. As usual the whole enterprise of human civilisation is being pulled down by the lowest common denominator - insecure males without the reflectivity to realise that there's nothing wrong with being insignificant because in the end we all are.

Interesting and thought-provoking read wrapped up innocuously in funny

Nice work JB. Loser man-muppets with privilege and power is a perfect shit storm and has been the human race's achillies heel since time immemorial.

Sir David Attenborough's speech at the Royal Society, chaired by Prince Philip, suggested a solution to the problem.
