I see this a lot in my job, which has a good bit of command and control. If I am being Deputy Commander for a female Commander, sometimes the blokes (the ones who are invariably shit at their jobs) in the team will walk right past her and ask me a question. “You need to talk to the boss mate.” The ones who are solid, who know their work, never have any problem.
